Marketing Data Analyst
Help Marley Spoon turn customer and growth data into smarter decisions. This is a hands-on analytics role with real ownership across experimentation, performance and commercial insight.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Marketing Data Analyst with a strong growth and commercial mindset.
This role is ideal for someone who gets excited about understanding customer behavior, spotting growth opportunities and using data to influence how a business acquires, retains and engages customers. You’ll work on questions that sit close to business performance: what drives conversion, what improves retention, where customer friction exists, which experiments are working, and where we should invest next.
You won’t just be reporting on performance — you’ll help explain it. From analyzing acquisition and lifecycle trends to supporting experimentation and surfacing actionable insights, your work will help shape decisions across the customer journey.
This is a hands-on role with real visibility, real ownership and strong exposure to experimentation, product analytics and commercial decision-making.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Analyse customer behaviour across the full lifecycle, from acquisition and activation to retention and engagement.
Design, evaluate and interpret A/B tests and quasi-experiments to understand what drives growth and improves performance.
Partner with Product and Marketing teams to uncover opportunities to improve conversion, customer experience and long-term value.
Build and maintain dashboards and Looker models that give teams clear visibility into growth, customer and business performance.
Explore data from Snowflake, Amplitude and other sources to identify trends, friction points and opportunities for optimization.
Support deeper analysis into commercial and operational questions, including campaign performance, customer trends, fulfilment efficiency and demand patterns.
Turn complex analyses into clear, compelling recommendations that help stakeholders act quickly and confidently.
About You
You’re analytically strong, commercially curious and motivated by understanding what moves the needle. You enjoy connecting data to business performance and are comfortable working with teams across different functions to solve open-ended problems.
You likely enjoy questions like:
What is driving customer conversion?
Where are we losing people in the journey?
Which experiments are creating meaningful lift?
What behaviours signal stronger retention or long-term value?
Where should the business focus next?
You know how to move from data to insight — and from insight to recommendation.
Must-haves
Around 3+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally in a growth, product, marketing or e-commerce environment.
Strong SQL skills, including joining datasets, building robust aggregations and writing efficient queries.
Experience with BI and data visualisation tools, ideally Looker.
Hands-on experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
Practical experience with experimentation, including A/B tests and/or quasi-experimental analysis.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to turn analytical findings into clear business stories and actionable recommendations.
Comfort working in English within a distributed, cross-functional team.
Nice-to-haves
Familiarity with Python or similar tools for deeper analysis.
Experience with Amplitude or other product analytics platforms.
Experience in subscription, marketplace, DTC or other consumer businesses where growth and retention are key.
Exposure to customer lifecycle, funnel, cohort or behavioural analysis.
If you don’t meet every requirement but feel excited about the role and confident in your ability to grow into it, we’d still love to hear from you.
