Data Analyst
We’re looking for a Data Analyst based in Portugal to turn data into decisions that shape how we acquire and delight our customers!
About Marley Spoon
We’re Marley Spoon, a food-tech company on a mission to make amazing, home-cooked meals easy and sustainable. Since 2014, we’ve grown into a global meal kit platform, delivering flexible, personalised recipes to customers across six countries.
Behind every box is a network of intelligent systems, built by lean, cross-functional teams who care deeply about customer experience, sustainability and quality. Our Data Tribe plays a key role in making that happen – one model, one insight, one experiment at a time.
About the Role
As a Data Analyst in our Data Tribe, you’ll turn complex data into clear insights that guide decisions across Product, Marketing, Operations and Engineering. You’ll design analyses, build dashboards and support experiments that help teams understand what truly moves the needle for our customers and for the business.
You’ll have the chance to go beyond reporting: working alongside experienced data scientists and analysts, you’ll get exposure to advanced analytics, A/B testing and causal inference. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, where your work will be seen, used and acted on.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Design, analyze and interpret A/B tests and quasi-experiments to inform product and marketing decisions.
Build and maintain reliable dashboards and data models in Looker to support self-serve analytics across the company.
Explore customer behaviour across acquisition, retention and engagement using data from Snowflake, Amplitude and other sources.
Support operational analytics, including demand forecasting, fulfilment and supply chain questions that help us run more efficiently and reduce waste.
Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Marketers and Operations leaders to frame business questions, choose the right analytical approach and communicate results clearly.
Share findings in a simple, visual way so stakeholders can act quickly and confidently.
About You
You’re curious, analytical and comfortable working with stakeholders from different backgrounds. You enjoy turning open questions into structured analysis, and you care about making your work understandable and actionable.
Must-haves
Around 3+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally in a tech, product or e-commerce environment.
Confidence with SQL, including joining tables, building aggregations and writing efficient queries.
Experience with BI / data visualisation tools (Looker preferred, but similar tools are fine).
Hands-on experience working with data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake or similar).
Practical experience with experimentation (A/B tests and/or quasi-experimental methods) – either designing, analysing or interpreting tests.
Clear communication skills – you can explain complex concepts in a simple, visual and structured way.
Comfortable working in English in a distributed team.
Nice-to-haves
Familiarity with Python or similar tools for deeper analysis and experimentation.
Experience with Amplitude or other product analytics tools.
Previous experience in subscription, marketplace or other data-rich consumer businesses.
If you don’t meet every single point but feel you can grow into this role, we’d still be happy to hear from you.
How We Work – Location, Remote & Collaboration
This role is remote within Portugal – we can hire you anywhere in PT, as long as you have the right to work here.
We have a Lisbon office where you’re welcome to join collaboration days, workshops or social events, but this is optional, not mandatory.
We collaborate mainly during European business hours, with flexibility to organise your day in a way that works for you and your team.
What’s In It For You
The opportunity to have a direct impact on how millions of meals are planned, cooked and delivered.
A role where data is genuinely valued, with stakeholders who want to experiment, measure and learn.
Exposure to advanced analytics, experimentation and product thinking, working alongside experienced data professionals.
A supportive environment that encourages ownership, continuous learning and cross-team collaboration.
Benefits:
Hybrid work policy (remote + office).
22 annual leave days +2 days extra days for every year of tenure (up to 6).
5 training days per year.
Private health insurance provided by Tranquilidade.
Food allowance of 7.62€/worked day under by Coverflex.
