As Senior Sourcing Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the strategic management plan for fresh produce categories within Marley Spoon. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you’ll lead sourcing initiatives from our Melbourne Fulfilment Centre in Altona North (VIC 3025) - ensuring our customers receive the freshest, highest-quality produce.

We’re looking for a sourcing leader with a deep understanding of fresh produce markets, grower relationships, and seasonality dynamics, who can balance commercial impact with quality, innovation and sustainability.

Please note, this is a maternity cover until August 2026.

Your Role:

As the category lead for fresh produce, you’ll combine commercial acumen with deep industry expertise. Your responsibilities include:

- Category Leadership: Maintain and execute category plans for fresh produce, ensuring alignment with sourcing strategy and ongoing business priorities.

- Market Insight: Analyse produce seasonality, supply risks, and pricing trends to inform category strategies.

- Supplier Management: Negotiate, onboard, and manage growers and suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and value.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Culinary, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality teams to optimise sourcing outcomes.

- Tendering & Contracts: Lead RFQ/RFP cycles, negotiate long-term agreements, and execute commercial opportunities.

- Cost & Analytics: Control category spend, achieve COGS reduction targets, and drive long-term procurement savings.

- Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure supplier compliance with environmental and packaging standards, while embedding sustainability initiatives.

- Innovation & Growth: Support NPD and product commercialisation through strategic supplier partnerships.

This is you:

- Tertiary qualified in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and/or Business Administration

- 5–7 years’ experience in procurement or sourcing, ideally within Manufacturing, Retail, or FMCG

- Proven expertise in food ingredient procurement (Fresh Produce, Grocery, Food Service)

- Strong negotiation skills and ability to “read” the market

- Sound understanding of Commercial and Contract Law

- Familiarity with supplier management tools (e.g. ERP, Foods Connected)

- Professional accreditation (e.g. CIPS) is a plus
